Description:

“Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.” – 1 Samuel 16:23

This is a rendition of the 10 stringed Megiddo Harp which, according to the excavation in Megiddo, is most likely the size and shape that David would have played to King Saul in 1 Samual 16 in the Bible. Evergreen's version of this instrument depicts history and also brings it into the modern world so that you can play with other musician and music scales that we use today.

The wood from this instrument comes from our own property in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina! The harp is completely hand-crafted with care. 

Its user-friendly design ensures seamless navigation of the strings, while its timeless sound creates a serene atmosphere for worship, relaxation, or collaborative performances.

You can tune it in different scales but our recommendation is as simple as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C. It can also be tuned in other scales such as various Pentatonic and Diatonic scales, or even ancient Hebrew scales.

Materials: Walnut or Cherry body, Poplar top and back, Hand turned tuners, steel anchor pins, nylon or steel strings and brass tuning wrench.

Finish: The finish is made from Caleb’s signature shellac french polish finish. It’s made from a food safe material called shellac that has been used on instruments for centuries. It’s durable and an absolutely stunning finish. The finish gives a 3D image of the wood and helps bring the characteristics of the wood out. 

AVAILABLE ACCESSORIES:
Leather Bag: Our bags are made with high quality, genuine leather. The case is designed to protect the lyre from being damaged when traveling or to store when not being used. The inside of the case is a soft material to also help protect the lyre. There is a metal zipper that goes around 3 sides of the lyre to allow you to open the bag and insert the lyre without it getting scratched. A leather strap allows you to carry it on your shoulder. Note: We typically carry leather colors: gray, dark gray, tan, brown and black. Our colors of leather may vary depending on availability therefore we cannot give the option to choose what color you would like. But we will make sure it matches the style and look of your lyre.

Stand: Our stands are made with high quality wood that matches the design of the David's harp. Each stand is designed to hold the lyre upright for display when it is not being used. It allows you to be able to showcase it on a shelf or table safely without it falling off.
Extra Set of Steel or Silver Wound Nylon Strings: Strings break from time to time and strings need to be replaced every year. Our extra set of strings are the exact size, length and number that matches the lyres that we build here at Evergreen Instruments.
